I don't think suicide... to many solid walls you can aim for, a moving truck isn't a likely target. JMHO

Sobering.

It seems so absurd that a driver could end up like this- but who among us hasn't had a moment at high speed when the chassis unweights over a slight rise and the car seems to just hang for a moment before the turn initiates... at 300k/h there isn't much room for error.

The better the car the more seductive the speed. Be careful.

Are you saying the guy survived? Or simply that he didn't die at the scene?

Looks like yet another wanna be race car driver ****ed up and killed himself. He should get a Darwin award for that one. Witnesses said he was going near 200 km/hr? Didn't brake at all? What an idiot. Luckily the only person he killed that day was himself. Really makes me sick to see this kind of stuff. On a different day, different road that might have been one of your family members that fool could have smashed in to.

I don't wanna start any kind of dispute here, but you don't have the slightest idea of what it is to drive in an Autobahn, do you?

With all respect, I wouldn't call someone an idiot just for the fact that he was going "near" 200km/h, specialy if this guy died in an accident in a car like yours.
If you read the Autobahnrichtgeschwindigkeitsverordnung (directive on reference speed on motorways in Germany) you will see what I mean.
And it is not uncommon in some sections of the Autobahn some cars doing more than 300 km/h.
Richtgeschwindigkeit is a legal term in Germany describing a recommended speed for roads without a speed limit that should not be exceeded even with fine road, traffic, view and weather conditions. Exceeding the target speed is neither a felony nor a misdemeanour concerning the German Law.

did the e55 guy survive?
I drove the autobahn and I can say in parts of it I would drive 200 no problem, its safe for the most part. But parts of it I would be careful although it says no limit...
