Installed Club Sport Seats

Just installed the club sport seats last night and OMFG what a dfifference!!!
A total transformation if you ask me!! Suddenly I can feel every bit of the car and how it behaves... I'm loving the car more and more every day!
Can't wait until Sunday to take her on the track!

I'll post pics of the seats later, I just wanted to vent and let you know that this is a great mod for the GT3!!

Congrets on the seat. I've been thinking of doing just the driver's seat? This way, access to the rear is still preserved. Has anyone done just one side (hopefully not just the passenger side ) How would that look? For those who didn't know how big the rear seat area is, I'm able to carry a set of 4 track tires in the back of the car, plus two folding chairs, plus an instant tent, plus a small ice chest, plus a hemlet, plus a passenger.

wow, didn't know all that could fit in the 3. I had just one seat in the M3 for that same reason. However a friend of mine installed two seats and just mounted the sliders in the passenger side so the seat was in the rearmost position for normal driving around. you could scoot it all the way up so you could still fit the tires back there. might work on the 3 as well. something to consider.

i can understand that some people will HATE this look,
but to me, it's more of a "weekend racer" type.
i kinda like it.

a lot of japanese people do that to their racing cars.

Don't those seats ROCK?!!

What's funny is that I wound up driving mine home from the Bay Area to San Diego County non-stop (except for gas) and arrived home WITHOUT any back/butt pain whatsoever! I'm not kidding- I thought for sure I'd feel beat up by the stiff suspension and unconventional seating position, but nope!

And +1 on the unbelievable machinery comment!

Juha, what did you do with the existing seats? I'm going to install the clubsport seats as well but I don't want the original seats laying around the house.

BTW, the car looks awesome, congratulations!

While we're talking about seats, did you go through a long selection process, or did you just pull the trigger and make it happen.

1.) Leather or Fabric ?
2.) Plastic or Carbon ?
3.) 996 Club Sport Seats or 997 Club Sport Seats?

Any insight or advice?

Excellent seats, they look great. I'll be doing the same shortly. I'm just waiting for the extra set of seat belt receptacles to arrive.

Juha, did you have to have the ECU changed?

I have to be honest here and let you know that my seats are not OEM, they're replicas made to the exact OEM spec. The frame/body is Kevlar instead of Carbon fibre (which is basically the same stuff in a different setup).
The fitment is very good and the quality is top notch!
And the price, I paid $1300 shipped to my door including the brackets & bolts. Can't really beat that!!

I figured I'd get these and see if I can fit my fatass in them and If I like em.
Not worth spending close to 3k to do that IMHO.
I figured, if they're no good, I can just put em up on ebay for 1000 and get the OEMs.

After having these on the car for 2 weeks and having done already one DE with them, there's no way in hell I'm pulling these seats out of my car! I love them!!!

Fortyounce, you don't need to do anything with the ECU if you just remember to disconnect the battery terminal before you swap the seats.
Otherwise you will trigger the Air bag light (if battery is connected when you disconnect the seat belt sensors).
If this happens, the dealer can easily reset the Airbag light...
