I'm sure the cost of the Superman outfit was well worth the amount of international trim this guy waxed last summer.

despite some glitches it sounds like an awesome trip! I've driven from Geneva through the alps several times and also loved the roads. I hope to do it in a porsche in the future. Thanks for the photos too.....some great shots!

eclou: I did a similar pilgrimage to yours back in late December 07, except I started in Berlin. It is truly an amazing journey, and one that changes your view on North America greatly. I will be doing the same thing again likely this year (schedule depending), or perhaps next spring. Anyways, thanks for the great write up, and photos.. and good luck with your new 3!

Thanks for the comments guys.

In regards to the auction, I have almost no knowledge about it but your dealership's SM or GM should know more. A British couple at the factory told us about how they bought a Boxster that way.

Concerning the drop off at the end of the trip, there are about 9-10 places approved for drop off other than the factory. They are sites used by Schenker logistics (like Intercity here) and cost extra - about $1800 for me from Nice. They actually ship directly to the port and not to Stuttgart and so the delivery back home is faster than from the factory.

I love posts like this. I hope to visit soon myself. Gotta love the hot ladies, thin and showing it all off.

I rarely laugh out loud reading stuff online especially this forum, but your whole wife-punisher roads story cracked me up.

Thx, again. Nice ride.
