So does anyone know what the driveability difference will be between a current 997 trip and 997 DSG?? What kind of impact will you actually see?

Faster accleration, better mileage. A good auto mode if you want it (not jerky as in SMG). Best of both worlds with few compromises.

you will not feel the upshifts or downshifts anymore.. u will feel it very very very very little...

MUCH quicker shift time, improved fuel efficiency, and a faster car
