After 800 miles and 11hrs of straight driving, I made it back home at midnight yesterday. I stopped twice for gas and junk food. I was eagered and the car was just so easy to drive that I didn't even bother stopping to pee. Never thought driving in 101 degree 6th gear under 4K rpm could be so much fun.

Brief Expression:
Look wise this car is much better in person. Having owned mostly bright color Pcars, I wasn't sure if white was me. But now I am. This car got more attentions yesterday than I 've ever gotten w/ the GT2. Comparatively speaking, the power and acceleration of this car is not much different than a stock 996GT2. Even though it's not as torquey, its lightweight make up difference when pulling in straight line. At high RPM the cams open up and the power kicks in like the spool of the turbos. The biggest concern I have is the handling. When in Normal PASM, the car is way soft ,and so twitchy that it made me nervous at high speed corners with lots body rolls. What's even even worst is at this mode the car is somewhat unstable during high speed (100+mph) straight line. However, these characteristics completely disappeared when the PASM is switched to SPORT mode. The car becomes more p[redictable and behaves as it should be in this mode. I highly recommend setting this car in the Sport PASM at all time for all road conditions. The exhaust is like Dr. Jeckyll and Mr.Hyde. Nothing in Normal mode but completely comes to life in the Sport mode like (it should be.) More or less like a Tubi on a F360...

That's all for now.

Note:No bugs were injured during this trip.

Car looks great. Congrats.

Glad to hear you made it back ok. I can't wait to see it in person.

Looks like Mr. Phillip Fata was your salesman. I am sure you were treated well.

Chris

Phillip Fata told me he can bench 260 . You know him well?

Seriously, he was fantastic from the beginning to the end. I highly recommend him to anyone. I was in and out of there in 30mins.

Congrats One More Time ....

I had same feelings on the first few days with my 997-RS, then decided to keep it on sport mode all the time
The driving is perfect with suspension on normal mood, very much acceptable for daily drive.
However, when I switch to Sport Suspension the car says: "Take Me To The Track NOW".

Love the color of your Wheels ... were they painted at the dealer or ordered as "Spacial Option" ?

Vincent,
Very cool like the white w/blue wheel combo however, bet you already will have a set of BBS in the garage.
Drive back should of been enough break-in. How does red line feel?
Enjoy in good health.

Wheels were factory painted in OEM cobalt.
I realized a lot of people likes the NORMAL PASM but to me is was definitely softer and twitchier than what I am used to.......MotonCS. That said it was excellent at low speed where bumps are very tolerable.
I gues I'll stick to SPORT/SPORT since I don't drive it daily.

Darryl

No need for BBS. The 19" OEM are perfect.............for now
