Carrera GT Market??

What is the going rate on these cars? ... What am I supposed to look out for? ... What kind of clearance do I need?

Thanks.

Nice choice Dario.

Going rate :

2004 325k-350k, more for black

2005 325k-400+, higher range for black

Issues :

Watch for clutch wear, everything else is bullet proof. take a look at the CF, if it is yellowing, it may be a cosmetic issue you don't prefer.

Clearance :

the wife....just kidding....its low, but driveways approached at 45 degrees offer no challenge. Speed bumps are cleared, steep inclines may scrape coming off...just be careful...

one final thought...hell of a choice man, it is a fantastic piece of kit

^^^ Thanks for the input ^^^

I'm still up in the air about what I want ... I know performance wise the GT will be impossible to beat but as far as pure sex factor it doesn't do it for me ( flame suit ) but as of now is the leader depending on price and locating one ....

Right now I'm on the fence with the following .. Any input would be great.

05 Carrera GT (Black/Ascot)
08 Gallardo 6-speed (Pearl White / Black)
08 997 GT2 (Carrera White / Black)
06 Ford GT Heffner TT (White / Black)
06/07 F430 6-Speed (Any tone of silver)

The CGT is the easy choice on that list for me.

A CGT is a incredible machine but if you dont love it now, then dont get one. You need to love the car you get right away, I have heard those Ford GT Heffner TT's are INSANE.

You may end up buying something else, but you will come back to the CGT eventually.

Two things: Ensure the po knew how to use (or not) the throttle on take up. If the clutch is treated properly, it will last longer than the car. Have the clutch read: nominal is 30 - 31 mms.

Second, have stealer check for stage I and II over-revs.

I don't know why these things have a bad rep for clearance. I never even think about and I've never scraped mine.

Make sure you drive it. Once the oil is warm, nail it on a wider street with no traffic and then decide. It's better than sex.

At current market the CGT is a big leap above the other choices on your list...but its worth it. I wasn't a CGT enthusiast until I drove one - lucky to get some seat time on Bay Area backroads and at Buttonwillow. Within a few miles I determined that my Stradale felt like a toy and my GT2 felt like a tractor. Needless to say I own a CGT

Josh

2005 CGT
2007 E63 Wagon

2002 GT2 (gone)
2007 GT3 RS (gone)
2004 Challenge Stradale (gone)

The only car on your list I have a problem with is the Ford...I just don't get it. The others are based on sex appeal to you...can't go wrong.

i would say Carrera GT as choice #1 because it , in my opinion, is the best Sports Car ever made .. (the veyron is not a sports car, its more of an exotic GT)

the only thing is, its NOT a forgiving car... you need to know what youre doing, you need to respect that car at all times

if not a carrera GT, i would buy a LP640... believe it or not, it is just as fast as a carrera GT, esp from 0 to 150 ....
the car just feels great, its not that challenging to drive, and in my opinion is the most beautiful car today.

if not those 2, i would say buy a f430 now, and trade it in for a GT2 when they becomes available
