Not hard at all. Its easier if you see someone do it first.

I've got a local vinyl guy who can make me some stripes up, only he's a little concerned that if they're not fitted exactly right that the wheels going to look buckled while on the move...!

Any tips?

If he knows what he is doing, its easy. Once you start on the wheel go all the way around without stopping. That way you never get a break/ strech in the stripe.
