Your car looks great. I've been also looking for the paint code to paint my Supra. So what is it, cause I want to be sure it comes out as beautiful as yours. Thanks.

Basically you jus tell your body shop to lay down regular PPG balloon white (currently at work, ill post the exact paint code when i get home later) and finish it with a satin clear finish. The satin clear is more expensive than regular gloss clearcoat. Thats how mine was done, those ****ty phone pics dont do it justice ill have a full photoshoot picture set posted in the japanese supercars section soon

Yup, the semi-gloss clear is much more expensive but it offers a great finish. Doesn't give a flat look, more of a matte with a bit of gloss.

Can't wait to see the pictures.

looks like the paint came out pretty good. Will be keeping an eye out in the Japanese section for the photos.

thanks guys, the paint code is PPG 224009

here's a few more pictures of the car, keep in mind it looks more like flat white here instead of the satin white that it is. Needless to say I need to get on that photoshoot ASAP, a lotta guys from other forums have been bugging me for proper pictures since nothing I've posted so far do the paint justice. I'm just waiting for my new front bumper to arrive before I do the photoshoot, should be another 2 weeks or so.

^ thanks man, yea the bumper took a long time to arrive, finally painted and installed it yesterday and snapped a few pics with my cheap kodak cam... don't mind the taped up spare wheels, my main set is getting new tires put on at the moment. So I can't do a full photoshoot yet until I get my tires.

pic edit

Question

G35 I was wondering about your paint process. Please answer as many as you can.

How many coats of base paint.
How many coats of pearl and how much?
How many coats of clear?
Was the final coat of clear sanded and or buffed, or was it just wiped with a tack cloth?
What was the time span between primer & base, base & pearl and pearl & clear?
What brand paint products were used?

I had my bay done (Evolution IV). Gonna put back in the go fast bits before I paint the rest of her. I want the best possible outcome so I'm trying to find out the methods others used when applying this colour.

3 coats of base, 1 coat pearl (1/4-1/2 pint if I had to guess) and 2 coats satin clear. Pix taken while paint was still wet.
