Gallardo Homelink
Gallardo Homelink
I have been trying to program the homelink in my Gallardo with no success. The manual states to hold the I and III buttons until it flashes, then press the button you want to program until the LED flashes again. Next hold the transmitter you want to replace at the front bumper below the left (drivers side?) headlight until the turn signals flash 3X. Am I doing something wrong. The LEDs all flash inside I jsut never got a confirmation flash of the turn signals that they have learned the garage door opener. Any helps appreciated.

my range rover wont program my garage opener because my garage opener is a secured one in which the frequency changes each time and is never the same making it incapable of storing it. maybe your garage is the same way?
the turn signals flash when its been coded...if they're not flashing its not recieveing the code. Call the dealer..
PS- the secure opener is "rolling code"..if you have one you have 2 options:
1-turn of the function on the door
2- once its prog in the car, there is a learn button on the garage reciever. You push the button on the reciever and then go to your car and continue pressing the programmed button untill the door opens. Basicly you programing the garage itself life you programed the car. GL

OK thats probly what I will have to do. Just out of curiousity how long does it usually take for the car to read the code your transmitting?
Yep.. the common problem is the rolling code. if so, you have to hit the learn button on the garage door open itself (not the remote) to program the car. If its a relatively new garage door opener, it should program. Let us know how it goes.

If you did the right thing, you probably did it correctly, but I found that my car did NOT flash the lights either.
I thought I did something wrong, I was holding the transmitter ALL over the car, and finally I just tried to press the homelink button, and it worked!
My advice, do it again, once for the left button, and once for the right hand button. Then turn the car off, turn it on, and test the Homelink. It should work.

I've programmed about 7 vehicles for my house and every time there is a long "lapse" i forget the damn sequence. My garage door requires a rolling code and the gallardo supports this.
It's much easier if you have two people... and most importantly is finding out your garage door receiver (ie. the actual unit that opens the door) procedures. For example, my garage door receiver/opener says to hold down the "reset" button for 4 seconds and then do the programming procedure. But this causes it to lose ALL memory and then you end up having to reprogram all your remotes over again. Pain in the butt.
So, here's the steps.
Hold the I and III buttons down until it starts to blink, as the manual says. Once it starts blinking, hold down your garage door opener that you are "learning" from and program the I button (or whatever button you want).
Once it has taken it, your I button won't open the door. Now you need to have the person inside the garage press the "learn" or "reset" button quickly. Once they do it, the actual garage door motor should be in learn mode and it has to be programmed to work with your gallardo homelink system. This is where you press and hold your gallardo I button and it will communicate with the garage door opener and voila, done. My garage door motor blinks the lights once it's successfully received the signal from the car.
It's a bit confusing as you think you need to get your car to pick up the rolling code but it's the actual garage door motor/opener that has to learn the rolling code of the car.
Hope this helps.
