I'm not sure if anyone figured it out or not, but the shop that built it is Platinum Motorsports. I think the difference is, this is their own car vs fulfilling a customer's exact request.

everytime I see blacked out tail lights I think mid 80's Iroc with those GTA tail and headlight covers....looks like total crap

overall, the gated shifter in my murc isn't as slick as the one in my 360. but the tallness of it, never really bothered me.
you can buy a cut downshaft and ****, but seems expensive to me:
