06 Gallardo 6spd Reverse lights not working

I was wondering if anyone can help or has run into this problem. I have a 2006 Gallardo 6 speed and the reverse light are not working. I had a brake light out on one side so I took apart the light assembly and changed both bulbs. The brake light is working fine now but still no reverse lights. I then checked the old bulb and it was a working bulb. Any suggestions I would greatly appreciate

Reverse light switch on transmission possibly faulty. It is located on the top side of transmission just forward of the rear bumper.

This happened to my 05. I replaced the reverse switch on the transmission, like JoeL mentioned above, and all was fixed.

You need number 8. Its $100. Its easy to change out too, take the cover panel off the backside and the switch is right there on the side of the tranny, use a deep socket to get it off.
