Need Buying "opionions" ASAP
Need Buying "opionions" ASAP
My head is spinning. Background:
Had a 830 awhp GT-R until about a year ago. Sold it for good reasons, but missed it ever since. I've owned several cars. GTR is First I've actually 100% enjoyed and been thrilled with. So was going to get another GT-R. However, something else just came up.
Need to know: Im in small town. No lambo's here. never sat, rode, etc. in a Murci. However, I can pickup an '02 Murci, very clean, 31k miles (condition much better than that) for I think great price. Like most "boys" dream as a kid was a lambo. Now I have the chance, and I just don't know. Basically, I can get a 930 whp GT-R, or this Murci for exact same price.
I know they are not even same realm, but.... I know its all subjective, and a lambo owner will say Murci, a GT-R owner will say GTR.
Any pointers other than... If you want "status" = Murci, performance = GTR...

I have had a Gallardo, prior to the GTR. My GTR was modified, not to 800+, but right around 700hp. Sold the GTR about a year ago, and it was by far the best car I owned. I had the Gallardo, a few AMG cars, a 996TT, etc..... Since getting rid of the GTR I have once again been looking at Lambo's. The difference in my opinion is that there is no sports car anywhere near the value of the GTR that gives you all the power, fun, drivability, and usability that the GTR gives you. The Lambo does one thing, it gives you EXOTIC. And from my personal opinion, right up there with the most exotic cars in the world.
You have to ask yourself if you are willing to sacrifice all the things the GTR gives you, to have a true exotic. If you could have UGR Lambo, then you would have it all, but i am sure that is much more than what you can pay for the 2002 Murci.
Just a few thoughts. Not sure it helps at all, but its whats been going through my mind.

You summed it up perfectly. It does help solidify the exact conclusion I came to. I have decided at this time an Exotic is not for me. I would LOVE it, but it just wouldn't work due to many factors.
good advice given so far.
i personally put GTR along with other value performance cars out there - Corvettes, namely. as much as i know they are fast car, they are just not exotic by any means. GTR sounds muted in stock form and looks like nothing sensual. it's a brawny japanese muscle car with fancy electronics. nothing personal to GTR owners, but it's just a lambo owner perspective.
i have owned japanese sports cars (RX7TT) so i know what value they can deliver. however, when you get into an italian car, you'll realize how fast your heart is pumping. excitment is what an exotic is about. you don't even have to drive the car to be excited about it.
