It is a sad day that I traded my beloved 04 orange Gallardo. Although there was NOTHING wrong with my car and I was still in love with it, I felt it was time for a change.
So, Monday I made my way to Lamborghini of Houston to pick up my new car. If you read my previous post you know the bad experience that I had there to begin with. As I have stated in my past post; the new GM, Matt, went out of his way to make the rest of my experience to be one of the best I have ever had. To make this short….I will say that he made me a fantastic deal on this beautiful car. When we began I told him that I don’t buy new cars and this one was out of my budget. He made it happen!
The car is a new 2012 Gallardo Superleggera LP570-4 in Giallo Tenerife (Highlighter Yellow). This is a 3-layer pearl yellow and is the only Superleggera painted in this color. It is much brighter than the pearl yellow that is on other Lambos.
Going from a 2004 G to this 2012 SL is like night and day. The power is fantastic. The steering is much tighter and turning is sharper. I am coming from a 6-speed manual to the new E-gear and I am truly having a blast with it. The shifts are quick and the Corsa mode is my favorite.
The best thing was I brought 2 of my sons with me and my dad to enjoy the experience with me. Each time I buy a new car I bring one of my sons with me to drive it home. This time my middle son road home with me. I don’t know who smiled the most all the way home.
While there this time I dealt with Raj. Not only did they take time with me, they took time with my kids and showed them all around. He made sure I was comfortable with the car and everything about it before I drove the 4.5 hours home.
In the end, Matt has earned my business. He has turned what started out as a bad experience to be one of the best ones I have ever had. I know that Matt will turn things around at LOH dealership and I will be back.

 

On a side note, while there I was given the opportunity to drive an Aventador. Raj took me out and showed me how the car handled. I was loving the power that the V12 had. The fit and finish of the car was fantastic. It was comfortable and elegant. I was surprised that the car did not feel big or heavy. It stuck to the road like glue. The only disappointment was the sound; the car was too quiet for such a big engine.
I still think my SL drives better and more nimble. But, that could be because I was too scared to push the big 12 hard because it was not mine and cost twice as much..lol

 

Congrats and glad it all worked out. You said it took them seeing your thread to finally contact you? I guess sometimes we just need to do that...kudos man! Post up some more pics, that color looks amazing and the only one for SL, even better!

I love the color. Def has some green it compared to the pearl yellow you see all the time. Highlighter yellow is a good description. The fact its the only SL in that color makes it even better. It must have been great to share such an awesome experience with you loved ones. Best of luck with it. Can you post the window sticker up to show options? I just really enjoy looking at window stickers for exotics. Thanks.
