The Aventador made it's debut at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show replacing the Murcielago after a decade of success. Like its predecessor, the Aventador get's its name from Spanish bullfighting. Just like a real bull, this Lambo packs a punch. A staggering 700 horsepower are on tap. Add 509 lb-ft of torque, plenty of carbon fiber, and you get a 0-60 time of just 2.8 seconds. Thats less time than it took you to read that sentence! I'm sure the all wheel drive system has something to do with that. The new transmission is called the "ISR" or independent shifting rods 7 speed transmission. Since Lamborghini is owned by Audi, the Aventador is also safer than ever before. There are high tech gizmos on board as well. You've now got three different drive settings, Strada (street), sport, and Corsa (race track). There's even a switch to raise the nose up and down in case of speed bumps! All of you Top Gun fans out there, to start this raging bull there's a red flip switch just like on a fighter jet. Flip the red tab, then push the engine start button to fire up the 6.2 L V12. So what do you do when you have a $475,000 Lamborghini? Apart from finding a twisty road, you need to protect it.
