My Experience with Forgiato Wheels
My Experience with Forgiato Wheels
Hi Guys, Long time forum Lurker here
Just wanted to post my experience with my newly Purchased Forgiato Wheels
Long story short it is going to cost me about 25k in repairs.
The wheels arrived with a mis/unmachined mounting surface on the front wheels.
This was the diagram which my mechanic drew to outline the issue with the front wheels.

The wheels fit halfway, leaving a very small gap between the rotor hat and the wheel mounting surface, this caused vibrations while driving that feels like the wheels are unbalanced.
I immediately pulled back to the workshop after I felt the vibrations, and the brakes seized in front of the workshop. The workshop then took off the wheels and started dismantling the brakes to see what was causing it to seize.
It turns out the brake rotor was cracked, and the rotor hat was warped from the vibrations caused by the ill fitting wheels. The rotor was grinding on the calipers, steering knuckle and brake dust shield which caused it to seize completely.
The mechanic took the wheels to the machinist and also brought the stock wheels for comparison. It turns out that he was correct, the mounting surface of the forgiatos did not fit the hat and does not have the same profile as the stock rims. They then offered to machine the Forgiato to match the profile of the stock rims. Below is the picture of how much material they had to take off the wheel mounting surface.

The silver part was originally covered with black paint.
I have contacted Forgiato on this issue and they will not take any responsibility for the damages incurred to my Aventador from their ill fitting front wheels.
Below are some more pictures of the damages.
Rotor crack(both sides, all the hat screws had cracks near them as well)

Damage on the dust shield from rotor dragging(can see the marks).

To be honest I loved the wheels, they look incredibly amazing and the rears fit perfectly, I understand all business or manufacturing is not perfect and will sometimes have one off quality problems like this one.
I have however given up on getting them to take responsibility for the damages, and am waiting for Girodisc rotors to be delivered soon along with new steering knuckles.
I am just posting this to tell everyone of my experience dealing with Forgiato and how disappointed I am by them, they basically said they will not be taking any responsibility on the damages to my car.
TLDR
1. Bought Forgiato Navaja ECX wheels
2. Fitted them and drove
3. Over 60km/h the steering wheel vibrated like crazy
4. Went back to workshop
5. Front Brakes seized in front of workshop
6. Tech disassembled the front brakes and found that the front wheels mounting surface was not the correct shape.
7. Vibrations from ill fitting wheels destroyed rotors, bent steering knuckle, and dust shield.
8. I am out for 25k in repairs

Wow, I always liked Forgiatos because they make innovative designs, they really push the envelope with creative wheels. But I didn't know how their service was. They don't seem to know what their wheels fit and that's saying something if they pitch it to Lambo owners.
Would those wheels be the Navaja's? That'd be my guess just cause they don't make make 11-spokes and only 1 has the bend in the spokes like yours. Those are crazy cool when you paint them right.
Sorry to hear that brother. If it means anything, we can make things right next time if you decide to get something different, unless you get your wheels profiled for your car.
Good luck!

Yes you are correct those are the Navajas, i got them along with a full Vorsteiner Zaragoza set.
I did in fact got the set profiled at the local machinist because it would cost me the same as the wheel itself to ship back and it was clear Forgiato would not taking responsibility.
I've never liked Forgiato to big and bling and way too heavy for my taste. Good luck with the repairs that really sucks bro ugh!!! .... 2 of my exotics have Carbon rotors and I am always extra careful when dealing with wheel stuff, crazy expensive replacement costs!
