Are Gallardo's really in the mid $120's now?

If you get a G get an 06 or higher. The 04-05 are a different car. The 06 are holding stronger cause they are much improved in reliability and power.

Really made me question the Gallardo's tranny.
I can attest to the Gallardo's tranny. I blew one up myself. They don't seem to reliable.

does the extra ~25hp make that much difference or is it a lot more than just the hp bump?

That's the first that I've heard of transmission problems with the G. I know about 10 G owners and haven't heard any issues with the transmission.

I had an '04 6-speed and absolutely loved it. The only problem with it was the lack of the "lift" option, so I had to change to an '06. The '06 is awesome as well and I have no problem going in and out of driveways.

Do you feel the 06 is much faster and handles better than the 04 you had?

The '06 definitely felt faster due to significantly improved stock exhaust. There is simply no comparison to the relatively quiet '04 stock exhaust. The '06 has an additional 20 hp, but I'd be hard pressed to say that I could tell the difference. Part of the problem is that my '04 was a 6 speed and my '06 is Egear. Somehow, I always feel like I'm going faster when I drive a manual transmission.

As far as the handling is concerned, there was no discernable difference to me.

Roy is solid as they come

You guys recall the yellow Enzo with the engine replaced for $100k+ under market?

Still carried factory warranty and the engine has to come out for service. So really, what is the big deal?

That's exactly the point. There shouldn't be any mechanical difference between the two. However, if you were choosing between 2 identical cars and 1 of them had a blown engine replaced, which one would you choose?
