I drove an 05 egear yesterday. I thought the egear was ok perhaps a bit clunky. I am looking to get an 04 or an 05. I hear that the 06 is even better but I like to buy cars that have bottomed out from a depeciation standpoint.

I am 6'3 and my head was touching the roof at times. I know there must be some tall drivers...any seat mods I can do to gain and inch or two?

Power wise the car was pretty quick... Not as fast as my modded turbo but certainly fast enough to get me to the gym and nightclub in.

So I am pretty sure I am going to trade my german in next year for a dance with an Italian.

Definitely don't want to get an 04. 06 is a major improvement, performance-wise.

seatwise, i know roy cats has done this for a couple of his customers before.

Less power and longer gear ratio's than 05/06 models, hence apparently slower to accelerate. Not sure how much though!!

 

also, for e-gears there were like 4 or 5 redesigns of the clutch since the 04...06 on have newer exhaust and nicer interior finishing as well

The also moved the 3rd brake light from the roof to he spoiler...thus, people can tell if its an older or newer model...

Many options only became available after the 04s, e.g., backup camera, etc.

Yea, but the 04's are about 50k cheaper than an 06. I dorve an 05' need to drive an 04 I guess.

no you are wrong... only 06 and up have the upgraded gear ratios and power.
04/05 are virtually the same

 

Powerwise, 04's and 05's are virtually the same; the front-lift system was added in 05. That said, don't be afraid to go with an 04 -- especially if it has a manual transmission!

 

I am excited for it. Although I love go..I am a bit more show. This will work nicely for me!
