Lexus LFA Impressions

I have just finished reading Automobile Magazines excellent article on the "SATANIC LEXUS".
My first impression was it looks like a Lexus with a body kit. I feel that for $400k we should be seeing something more exotic. I also think that 552HP/395LBFT of torque would have been dominating 5 years ago. That torque figure tells me I'm going to be at redline all the time to get that rush. I'm sure it's a nice car, but $400k? Thoughts?

that car is meant to be an "exclusive" car, not a performance car. considering this is their first attempt for "super car", i think they are doing alright. besides the cost, i like it.

I think your forgetting the weight of this car, and the hp rating per lb. The car has a better power to weight ratio then a ZR1. That motor just came out and has not had ONE bad review on it, and everyone is just amazed about it. I think they hit a home run, though I think it should be in the 250 to 300k max range, even with its exclusivity.

I think the LFA will be an awesome vehicle and as mentioned before, its more geared toward exclusivity rather than performance. Keep in mind that it IS lexus' first exotic vehicle they've produced, and because of that the vehicle is thrown into the pack with the "big dogs." Just like the IS-F, most articles leaned towards the M3 given that the M3 has been in production for quite some time and the IS-F being Lexus' first performance vehicle. Nevertheless, $400k for a vehicle provides a lot of options, and the LFA probably will not be the number one pick for most people
