My girlfriend's Elise has been very reliable. Things have changed since the 80's.

 

What keeps me from looking an an Exige is the fact that the prices have shot up to silly amounts over the past few years. A good friend had one & man it was a fun ride, but not $40k fun. He feels the same

 

What sports car at 40K will give you the sensory experience of an Exige?

 

There are only a small handful of (very expensive) cars sold today that can run through a slalom as fast as a 11 year old, 190hp Exige. And nothing will give you the tactile experience while doing it. I don't know what kind of fun you are looking for, but it's probably not a match for the Lotus' true talents.
