I optioned the Macan S to $67,050 USD, the similarly equipped Turbo comes up to $80,360. Is the $13,310 worth it for the Turbo? This is the question for me.

I think that's a question, only you can answer. It's very personal. For me it's worth the extra money, as long as I don't rationalize it too much. On the other hand, I can really understand why you ask it yourself. Porsche hasn't made the Turbo as "exclusive" as one would expect (it looks almost the same, no options exclusively for Turbo). The difference is not much more than performance only, so if that is not the most important factor, the Macan S is equally as good for a lower pricetag.

My Macan S comes in just over $59k, so the decision is much easier. Resale tends to be stronger on the turbo models, but it's difficult to know just how much on the Macan for a while.

I think you have to ask whether the exclusivity and extra power/beefier components are worth it to you for a vehicle of this type. The value of a turbo in the 911 range is obvious. For a car like this which is going to be more utilitarian... I'm not so sure. For me, a CUV that gets to 60 in 5.0 seconds is plenty good.

Thank you for your feedback, one of the reasons for not placing an order right now is that I am not decided, I need to test drive the S before I can decide that is sufficient.

I am planning to get the Macan not because we need a new car but because I want to . Therefore I want to make sure every time I start he engine (here is where PSE comes into play) or floor the gas pedal (here where hp/torque is needed) I get a grin on my face every single time!

Some verbiage copied from the Macan Brochure found on the Porsche US site, highlighting differences between the Turbo & S. I thought this was helpful.

Turbo
The distinctly muscular front
fascia, with the side airblades of
the conspicuously large cooling air
intakes, is found nowhere else but
on the Macan Turbo.
The Macan Turbo also stands
out thanks to its front spoiler lip,
the design of which is based
on that of the 918 Spyder, and the
direction indicators and position
lights, which appear to hover inside
the side air intakes.
The Macan Turbo also features
Bi-Xenon™ headlights including
PDLS, Porsche Active Suspension
Management (PASM), 19-inch
Macan Turbo wheels, red brake
calipers with enlarged brake
discs, side blades painted in the
exterior color, a leather package,
adaptive Sports seats, Porsche
Communication Management
(PCM) with a large touchscreen
and comfort with the BOSE®
Surround Sound System. Offering
a total output of 545 watts and
with 14 loudspeakers
including subwoofer, it delivers a special
listening experience.

S
The Macan S is equipped with the
19-inch Macan design wheels. Its
brake calipers are silver-colored.
Standard equipment includes
the CDR Plus audio system with a
high-resolution 7-inch touchscreen
offering intuitive ease of use.
