New Macan Owners First impressions?

I have had my Macan S for a week now and have to say the boys at Zuffenhausen and Weissach hit this one out of the park. Everything is just right, handling, brakes, engine ,trans, visibility, comfort etc. What is your impression?
I have trouble deciding whether to drive my 2014 911 S or the Macan on a daily basis. That speaks volumes on my impression!

Glad to hear this. I ordered an S earlier this week for Sept delivery, but still feel pangs of remorse at the thought of giving up my 06 C2S cab. My test drive last Sat verified for me that while the S isn't a 911 as some people seem to expect (due to promotional hype), it is a great handling vehicle for a SUV/CUV.

Your right its not a 911 however for a sport suv its the top of the class. Its just a great all around car.

I too have been wondering how the Macan and 911 compares. Your last statement speaks highly of the Macan.

I haven't been able to test drive a Macan yet due to work; I'll have to see if I get some time to try it out this weekend.

In your opinion, does the Macan drive like a 911 but with increased utility/rear space/utility/visibility? Have you driven a Cayenne before? How would you compare the Macan and Cayenne if you have driven the latter? IMO the Cayenne, though a nice ride, is still too big and drives like a big SUV.

here is my review of the turbo i picked up today

So after much deliberation i picked up a Jet Black Metallic on Black Macan Turbo today. I've been eyeing it for a while but needed to actually see the dimensions before I committed. I went to the dealer on Saturday and the rear seat is fine, I don't think its any smaller than the Q5 (my neighbor has a Q5 that I sat in and measured)

It happened that they had one coming in that was a launch vehicle and unspoken for.

It has all the performance goodies, PASM, PVT and Sport Chrono. It also has carbon fiber side blades and carbon fiber interior / steering wheel. So all in all a well spec'd car.

I drove it 15 miles to my clear bra guy and my short initial impression is that it drives like a sedan, close to a Panamera. In Sport Plus, in standard mode it definitely felt more soft and SUV like. But no matter what anyone says it is not a coupe or 911.

The Turbo has good torque, its not gobs of torque that push you into your seat, but its smooth, linear and noticeable.

I would say its almost exactly like expected, my only disappointment is the engine and exhaust. They are unexpectedly quiet, very very little growl or rumble...I really thought buying a turbo would bring a little more oomph and a little more noise..but its quiet.

I'll post more pics when i get her back from the clear bra guy and more driving impressions.

So I'll see if I can help..

The Macan is NOT a larger 911, the closest thing it feels like is a Panamera..it doesn't handle like a 911, it doesn't sound like a 911, it doesn't shift like a 911.

I also heavily considered a Cayenne GTS a few months ago so I drove that quite a bit. The reason I didn't get that was because it stil felt like a truck and wasn't nearly refined enough to justify the cost. I also decided that once the Macan was announced with a PDK that standard autos are a thing of the past, once you've driven dual clutch you won't go back.

The Macan is a GREAT crossover SUV and probably does offer the most refinement and performance in this segment, but it really can't be compared to any coupes....or performance sedans.
