HerMac is infamous around these parts
Rear defroster grid

There are a few gaps(spaces) on the grids near the top of the tailgate window. Is yours like that or is it a solid copper grid. Never saw this before. Does not look or seem normal.

Mine has the following gaps:
  • Top right of tailgate, about an inch in from the rounded darker glass
  • One small (1mm?) gap just below the rearview camera on each of the top two defroster wires
  • One larger gap (~1") on the second wire down top left of tailgate, plus a few small gaps on that same wire

I found no gaps in any of the lower wires.

Since we took delivery in May, we've had no cause to run the rear defroster. I would be surprised if the gaps impact function in any way, but I'll keep an eye out when we get into that weather.
