Macan 2023 basewinter tire size

I am selecting winter wheels and tires for my wife's base 2023 Macan 4-cylinder and want the narrowest practical choice. Default is 235/55-19 on 8" wheels front and 255/50-19 on 9" wheels rear.

Is there any reason not to go 235/55-19 on 8" wide wheels all around?

Yep, 235/55R19 all around works fine for winter on a 2023 Macan 4-cylinder. Gives balanced traction, simpler rotations, and predictable handling in snow/ice. You’ll only lose a tiny bit of rear-end grip compared to stock, but for winter driving it’s not an issue. Just make sure they’re proper winter-rated tires.

Thank you for this response. Good advice for next time.

TireRack did not want to go against mfg recommendations so I did go with the standard staggered setup.

That’s actually a smart move for winter driving — narrower tires generally perform better in snow and slush because they cut through to the road surface more effectively. Running 235/55-19s on 8" wheels all around should work fine as long as the overall rolling diameter stays close to stock and you clear the brakes without issue. Many Macan owners do exactly that for their winter setup to allow for tire rotation and improved traction. Just confirm offset compatibility and recalibrate TPMS if needed.
