Maintenance on a Quattroporte'?

Hey guys, my grandfather noticed the prices have dropped on the Quattroporte's around here. He is considering purchasing one and asked me if I knew what they cost to maintain? Anyone?

Depends on if it is a newer automatic or a paddle shift car

Wow, 118 views and nobody except this gentleman had any advice? Must not be a very popular car, eh? It will most likely be the auto.

I've heard that the older Duoselect cars are more notorious for transmission problems, whereas the ZF auto are a lot more dependable in this regard. Obviously, the duoselect are the ones with lower resale value and probably the ones dropping the most right now. Unforuntately, I can't comment on any other aspects of maintenance, however I can say that since you will be dealing with what is essentially a de-tuned Ferrari engine that may or may not be out of warranty, you will want to have some spare change set aside.

I have a DuoSelect (2007) QP. They're reliable, but the clutch only has an average lifespan of about 18,000 miles on average. Parts and labor for a clutch replacement is in the $3,300 range. Outside that, service costs about $1,000 or so at my stealership and it gets terrible gas mileage (12/17).

the car is like a stripper....

...beautiful, but all screwed up. I take care of my boss' QP and weve had some issues, primarily with the duoselect and extreme dissapointment with Maserati's support. The clutch had to be replaced at only 10K miles and Maserati NA and Europe have been unresponsive to requests to take care of the problem. Its an awesome car though, but Id stay away from the early models (we have an 06).

Maserati Dealer Scam

The car is a piece of s - anyone considering buying this needs to know its just fiat or alfa with fancier lines and seats.
If you unfortunate enough to be in atlanta, you have to deal with ferrari/maserati of atlanta - most incompetent troop youve ever seen.

Avoid the car like the plague- unless you have lots of spare money to waste.

Worst vehilcle i ever owned- a money pit.

I have to disagree with you. I switched from a dime a dozen 06 M5 to the QP & have been very happy. I've put over 14,000 miles on my car in 7 months. I can't stop driving the car. As far as maserati of Atlanta they have treated me very well. Yes, they are expensive but that's expected. My car has had the suspension lowered & DBW installed. These small changes turns the car into something different all together. After my waranty is up the ECU & Tubi or larini gets put on.
