I'm sorry but I just don't get the "feminine" label with convertibles at all- quite ridiculous IMHO. It's not like they grow feminine parts and flit around in lace and high-heels... then again, if they do, most of us should be swarming towards them. 
Feminine? No. Different? Yes.
Both have great merit. I think the Gran Cabrio is a brilliant and beautiful execution of a cabriolet on the GT. They still look tough, just like a 997 Cab still looks tough.

I guess I left the desire for convertible/roadsters behind with my youth. Something about having to comb one's hair with a blowtorch after a long drive....
I even find coupe's more attractive. Not that the spyder/convertible is ugly mind you.

And then theres the lovely Bordeaux Pontivecchio.....oh my......

I'm partial to convertibles in general for the open air experience but I think coupes generally look better compared to a convertible with the top up.
Been reading about these cars for years and with all the relatively recent changes and enhancements I really think I could see owning one some day. A cabrio that is.
