CLK 350/550 Covertible?

Wife seems to like the new 2008 CLK 350 or 550 convertible. We went to look at them today but were not offered a demo ride....weird! So, what are anyones thoughts on these cars? Options to get and stay away from? She is also comparing this car to the new BMW 335i convertible.

sport wise, go with BMW plus get the free maintenance. MBs are MBs, classy, the 350 has enough power, but the 550 is a whole other animal. Steering is more precise due to the heavier front end. I think the CLK looks classier!

I would definately say go for the BMW. First, I think the car looks better (personal opinion and I'll explain more later) and second it has a hard-top convertible. In terms of performance its probably a toss-up between the 550 and 335. The problem with the CLK is that it's a old body design. Yes, it still has some life in it, but the design looks stale. In a few years there will be a new CLK whereas the 335 just came out. Either way you can't go wrong, but I'd go for the bimmer.
