clk63 amg black series?
ive been looking at the clk 63 black series, and i saw a few on ebay they seem cheaper in the us than the uk however ive never had the pleasure of seeing one or drviving one in person, are there any owners that would recommend them? thanxs
my friend's father owns 2 mb dealership and they say that the black series is a monster...only thing is it has no back seats..it handles...looks a hell of a lot more aggressive...and is a rare vehicle....on a straight line its an animal and might be one of the funnest benzs to drive
I was actually very intrigued by this car since I wanted a monster but something a lot more drivable on a daily basis.. Went to dealer, and loved it A LOT, started it up, was like thunder inside the building on a cold start, sounded great!
Thing is, besides for the price tag I knew that I wouldn't drive it nearly as I would say, and would rather have a GT3 or something along those lines in that price range, its a tough market once your in that range, so many options!
But not to get off topic, its an awesome car with a very advanced auto gearbox, great handling and good looks!

Best car I've ever owned, and I've had some great ones.
As a daily driver, definitely. I currently have ~ 3200mi. Car is a head turner for those who know and don't know Benzes. Yet stealthy enough to park anywhere without too much concern.
Back seat issue: a non issue. How many times do you use them in the 911 (any model). Me personally, almost never. Don't miss em.
The novelty of this engineering phenomenon still makes me giggle with joy. The day I picked it up, I converted an MB die-hard to trade his CL 63 AMG in (6 week wait) and he never looked back. Not to be sexest, but he feels this is truly a "mans car" as in brute force, not discomfort. He felt his CL was a chariot, although a very nice one.
Would I buy this car over the competition if given the choice again? Absolutely, hands down.
Get one while you can, as the 63 BS is a classic out the box; no mods necessary. And only 300 will be brought to the U.S. Enough said.
BTW, the exhaust note is sweet from cold start to eternity
.
Thnx

For daily driving the auto transmission/engine (sweet) is wonderful and the front is not quite as low so you don't have to plan as much to avoid unfriendly gas stations, parking structures, driveways, ramps, etc.
The stiffness of each car is comparable, though each has it own feel. Handling is seductive (like the GT3) and it begs you to put your foot in it.
Certainly a very different AMG, and one of the all time great cars.
The real problem between the Black Series compared to the GT3 is when you drive them, you'll want one of each.
Nobody ever said choice was easy.
