The carbon airbox has been redesigned to flow a much higher volume of air. Air box alone adds 18hp. The combination of the airbox with the tubes and covers adds 5 liters (5000c/cm) increases the volume of air. This is a complete one-piece airbox and include custom made pre-oiled foam filters. Picture shown with the optional E55 air intake tubes. Stock AMG engine picture from a CL55.

i know a guy who has a c55 in silver and installed a silver CF engine cover, however when he showed it to me recently it was a yellowish color. he said he thinks its due to engine heat, do you think its the same cause? would the same happen to this one?

Thats a good question, Ours is black obviously, but as long as the parts have been installed properly and haven't been exposed to fire or acid or anything like that, we woudl cover it under warranty. Just FYI we also offer these intakes for many other vehicles and we've been selling them for a few years now and so far we haven't had any complaints about any of them changing colors. I have heard people noticing peoples carbon fiber hoods and wings and etc fading and changing colors. The only thing I can think of in your friends case is that some kind of liquid or grease or heat any combination of those things could cause them to change color.
