CL63 vs CLK63 BS

I would appreciate perspectives from those who have driven both cars. I love the looks of the CL but would expect that is is a "softer" car than the CLK.

CL is softer yes. Better everyday car IMO.

CLK is a monster, more of a weekend type vehicle

depends what you are looking for. The CL is a much bigger, heavier and more luxurious car with back seats but what many have described as "soulless." I use the CLK BS as my daily driver and couldn't be happier. Some may consider it too firm a ride for their taste but I don't find that at all after having previously owned a 550 Maranello as a daily driver and porsches prior to that. I think it is certainly more liveable on a daily basis than a GT3. Since I have no idea what type of cars you like to drive or how you plan on using it, it is kind of hard to advise you on which is better for you. The CL is geared more to great luxury and comfort with decent performance, while the CLK is geared more towards ultimate performance with decent comfort.

I drive a Quattroporte Sport GT and a DB9 and just sold a 997s. I want something with lots of power and more nimble than the DB9. I guess I am answering my own question. I love the torque and looks on the CL but would be buying a BS without actually driving one.

To me, the CL is just a more powerful version of the QP and certainly won't be more nimble than the DB9. If you are keeping the QP and/or the DB9 I see no reason to buy a CL as it is not going to be that much different from what you already have. I can understand your hesitation about buying a CLK 63 BS without driving one, I'm just not sure why you would have to. Are you saying no seller will let you test drive the car first?

There are none in my area and it's too cold to really drive one anyways. Too busy right now to go out of town but maybe I should wait....
