One of my friends just purchased a 02 CLK 430 (82xxx)

or if there are any other chips you guys would recommend. Also is it OK to modify a car with that many miles on it? Im a noob so any help is appreciated.

That website has scam written all over it. Its impossible to get anywhere near 50hp from N/A engine with just a "chip". To get these gains, you'll need headers, full exhaust system and intake on top of ecu reflash. I would recommend to your friend to leave the CLK430 stock and start saving for an CLK55.

+1, the best mod is really just a drop in air filter, or to save up for a CLK55. Mods to this (430) NA engine are expensive and their results are marginal at best.
