What is the best MB according to this?

I was wondering which Mercedes Benz is hands down the best in terms of reliability, cost of ownership, looks and drive as well as entry price used? Which is the most consistent in these categories and how would it compare to the competition? I really love the look of these cars but how finicky and problematic/expensive they can be really irks me.

I actually heard that the AMG cars were stronger and more reliable than the NON-AMG cars?

He was probably referring to the depreciation on the AMG cars being the primary effect on what you asked about above. Reliability-wise, I would expect them to be similar to the regular models. We have not had any problems with either of our AMGs ('07 CLK63, '08 S63).

Well I would hope the hell not, 07' and 08'? I would blow up the dealership if I was already having problems after paying that kind of coin. He said he was a MB AMG tech actually. But often times a loyalty to certain things can cloud what is really going on, forcing you to only really expose the GOOD and not the bad. I have not heard much good about MB in terms or reliability.

I thought you wanted to hear specifically about AMG models, maybe because of what Jorgeassoc wrote...

We also have a 1997 E320 with nearly 100k miles on it that we gave to our youngest son to drive during high school. Wear and tear on the seats (we bought sheepskin seat covers) have been the biggest problems with that car.

Maybe that is why we bought two more Mercedes cars.
