Warranty options on a G55

So i think im going to buy a G55 from a individual seller or a broker. Its my understanding that if i buy it from a car broker that i will have to buy a 3rd party warranty like Mercury Insurance Group. If i buy from a individual seller and he is the original owner, i was told i can buy extended warranty through MB. Of course the truck still has to be in warranty either way to be eligible.

I was quoted:

MB Warranty - 7yr(in service date, meaning 7 years coverage from when it
was originally bought from original owner)/75k total miles -
$4355

Mercury Warranty - 48 months (from the day you buy the warranty)/ up to
85k miles on the truck - $4675

OR

-48 months/ up to 75k on the truck - $4335

-both Mercury warranties require a $100 deductible but
can be service anywhere meaning MB or another repair
shop

I will most likely be buying a 2005 G55 with around 30-37k miles on it.

What do you guys think?

The MB warranty could be advantageous IF the original owner bought the truck in mid or late 2005. I dont think it would work to my advantage to buy the MB warranty if the vehicle was purchased in mid 2004 - due to the "7 years in service'' warranty.

Are there any other better options out there?

Thanks in advance!!!
