well, when I got my my c320 I had a lot of problems and once I got stranded ont he road because of a faulty sensor, but my c class was a 2001 which was the first year the body style came out and sense c230's came out later you shouldn't have too many problems. A fair price would be around $12000 depends on the year and the mileage.

If you are looking for a c230, stick to the years that are after 05. If you get an 05 - its running a supercharged I4 (m271). The m271 has had one well documented issue w/ leaking cam sensors which can result in expensive repairs from oil leaking down the engine harness and onto the O2 sensors. There was a TSB fix for this problem and should you get an 05, be sure this is dealt with ahead of time. The 06+ C230s are v6s (m272) and are known to be mostly problem free In general, if you get a w203 (01-07 c classes), stick to the years after 05. The earlier years (01-03) were known to have plenty of issues that were mostly ironed out by the time 05 came around. Not to mention the 05+ cars have a the amg body kit and look much more appealing.
