This is a great post as I was debating this myself. I believe both cars are great looking cars for what they are. I do think the CL is better looking and that the S is more common. I have driven both and for some reason I like the drive of the S better. I am debating what my next every day car is as my M5 is almost up on it's lease. It will either one of these cars or wait for the new M5. Still undecided.......

The new M5 is worth waiting for. This thread started when the 63 was a aspirated engine Since then its a boosted bi-turbo equiv to BMW which makes for potential tunes. OE horsepower is just a benchmark with lots of room to groooow.

CL63, my wife has a s550 and I love the car. A great sedan if you have kids in booster seats. Ours is white with 21" HRE's and get to drive it on the weekends. I just got a 2011 CLS550 and am looking to trade it in on a CL 550 and then add some new shoes. So the best of best worlds.

If you need the room get the AMG S class. Remember both these cars have self adjusting suspension that cost a small fortune when it fails. If you want to save a bunch of money get a C63 with a traditional suspension the same performance with the P31 package or a CLK63 Black Edition if you prefer 2 doors and even more performance.
