I revised the link in my previous post to show pictures of my SL55 after the dealership lowered my car even furthur (2nd time they lowered it) with the STAR diagnostics tool. If you look at the pictures of my car in the new link, it's pretty low. I don't know if you'd call it slammed, but it's pretty low.

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with going with the Renntech module...I"ve heard good things about it. I just wanted to clear up some common misconceptions that the car couldn't be significantly lowered using the MB STAR computer tool.

Keep in mind with the links installed, when you raise the car it will not raise it to maximum height it normally would as the links are tricking the computer into thinking its higher than it really is.

So with the links you will lose a little maximum height but it will still left higher enough to get by, it does for me at least.

 

I have the Carlsson module on my GL500.
Im looking for a module that can allow me to lower the car by a press of a button and back to stock easily.

Does the renntech module allow this? The carlsson only lets me have a set height and doesnt allow me to change at will.

 

Thanks for the info, I also had done this to my SL55 in the past but I needed it much more slammed, so the links worked...as it create dthe right look. i would say that the STAR method i sgreat for daily driving and basic "make your wheels look good" but i still would go with links or module for correct slammed drop

And to others: The Renntech does allow you to adjust all four corners individually, its night and day over the carlsson unit.

 

Module has the "coolness" factor as I believe more settings and can go even lower,

but links is the right choice. I've heard alot of problems are possible with the lowering modules.

 

Interesting. I appreciate everyone's insight. I will probably end up doing the links since I really want my CL to sit right on the 22's, whenever that is I put them on. Haha. As I said before, I just want it to sit low and look good. I'm not going to be raising it up or wanting to tweak it so the module is really pointless, I guess. I spoke to my authorized Mercedes dealership and they said they could not lower it. Not sure if they just don't know or if Mercedes won't allow them to. A question to the people who have lowered their cars with links. Does the ride quality change drastically? Thank you.

 

Sorry to bring back an old thread but where are you guys purchasing the lowering links? I know airridesuspension.com has them for $300. Has anyone ordered from there or anywhere else that was cheaper?

I would get the V2 with remote if you don't mind swapping a couple of pins on the harness or for a bit more money get the LoMo1 for complete plug and play integration and dash display.
