I've been driving a 2005 supercharged G55 quite a bit while I'm here in Miami. The G is what it is - narrow, poor handling, poor ergonomics, tight rear seat, etc., BUT the uniqueness, incredible exhaust note (think big block V8 muscle car), and torque, torque, torque is enough to justify buying one. It's such a trip to blow people away at stop lights and smoke the tires in the process! I'd seriously put it up against a Cayenne TT anyday 0-60.

G55 is sooooooooooooooo tight lookin! Besides u see a RR 20 times a day driving in LA. Not so with the G55.
#1 G55 (tectite grey) (even the G500, dont care too much for performance in an suv)
#2 RR (black)
#3 Yukon Denali XL (white with chromed 22's)
#4 Cayenne Turbo (I dont see the point of an SUV going fast)
#5 Escalade xlt or whatever the designation is???? (pearl white)

The G55 is awsome very powerfull 5.4L kompressor engine awsome looks (to some) interior isnt crappy its just slightly outdated.

Id take it over a Cayenne TT anyday, Why ? The G55 is a real truck solid axles, tough looks and has very good power and is unique and exotic in the SUV world.

you seem to contradict yourself? you put the G55 at the top off your list, which is fast is it not? then you state with the turbo that you dont see the point in a fast suv?

The G55K is badass! plus u can mod it with a pulley and ECU The thing is crazy fast for a SUV in a straight line, although i would take turns easy.

John, I spoke to Christian Treiber at Ruf....says the Ruf Cayenne Turbo kit is almost finished....I think they are aiming for about 550hp...
just thought you might consider that as an option, although no pricing is available yet...

In any case, on top of the CT price, the whole package won't be inexpensive....

Here's something to think about that maybe some owners can comment on. I golfed with a guy this weekend that just got MB to buy back his G55. Apparently the military version had manual windows and when they went to the consumer version they put in power windows. The regulators are not strong enough for the windows and his kept on breaking. He had a half dozen break and he finally got frustrated enough to get MB to buy the vehicle back. When he spoke to the service manager, he was told this was a common problem on the G55's. He also called some other dealerships and spoke to the service managers and they all said the same thing. It's not a saftely issue, but he considered it to be a major inconvenience to have to bring it back to the dealer every two months for a broken regulator.
