Mercedes-Benz may be rivaled only by Porsche for its ability to create nearly countless versions of its vehicles and call them different models entirely, and it appears as if this luxury automaker has no intention of stopping this practice.
As if the AMG variants were not extreme enough, Mercedes-Benz has also created several models in recent years under the “Black Series” moniker, which essentially builds upon the extreme performance aspects of existing AMG models to give them even more gut-wrenching performance and unique appearances to go along with the added power and handling.
The latest creation to be in the works is the C63 AMG Black Series, an extreme-performance model that will use a widened stance, increased power, adding stopping power, and most likely, even a modified rear-end in order to plant all of this power to the ground. This model will be aimed at embarrassing rival BMW’s M3, and will use a 6.2-liter hand built V8, good for total output in the realm of 510 horsepower.
In order to keep with the times, it is expected that an AMG seven-speed speedtronic gearbox will be mated to this mighty turbocharged V8. In carrying with tradition, expect some creature comforts to be dropped in order to offset the added weight from the larger engine and beefed up components, such as larger brakes, a beefier axle and tightened suspension.
Cosmetically, there will be a widebody stance and an added front spoiler and a sporty rear diffuser. Expect carbon fiber to find its way into several components of the production vehicle.
Although the vehicle spied is a sedan, expect a coupe version to follow as well.

 

The coupe version should be fairly close to the CLK63BS I would imagine, which is a good thing. I can't wait to see it when it comes out!
