I prefer coupes so I'm not considering the sedan. Actually, since I started this thread, I've been looking at the Nissan GT-R and have more or less decided on that car. From a performance perspective, it seems like a monster, especially given the fairly "reasonable" price.

Regarding the AMG BS coupe, can anyone comment on resale value? I was reading on one of the MB forums that resale values were poor. Many owners actually recommended buying used.... Can any owners comment???

Also, has pricing come out on the C63 Coupe BS??? The regular C63 coupe is around 80,000??? And I have heard that the BS is expected to sell for 125? There's a lot of competition at that price point IMO.

Just sold my c63... Bought an 09 in 10 for 48k (65k msrp), put 12k miles on in a year, sold for 44k

Kept my Carrera - much more engaging ride in all respects IMO!

C or CS?

i am guessing the price will be low 100 but who knows anyways. all i know are if you are buying this to eventually sell, this is not the car to go for (and pretty much true in general about BS). i know clk bs resale value was terrible...not sure about sl bs.

most likely gonna buy a gently used one down the road. cant justify paying that much regardless of how much i love this car.

every car will eventually be sold which is why resale value is important to me. Lately, I've been changing out my cars every 2-3 years so it's becoming quite an expensive habit. That's why I try to mitigate some of my losses by buying a gently used car. You basically are confirming what I have read elsewhere, ie resale value is poor on the BS and you're best off buying a used one...

anyway, looks like I'll probably get a GT-R...

Black Series. I've inquired with two dealers and it seems they are pretty strict with who gets the 75 cars coming stateside. If you can't find a dealer selling the C63, I'd go with the CLK Black. The performance #s are very similar and the CLK will cost about $30k less (used CLKs go for about $80k compared to the C63 Black to run about $115k).

I am vaguely considering the C63 coupe. Just read a review in Sportauto and it seems the performance boost over the performance pack is only 30 hp. At nearly 500 hp, the difference is not that noticeable and hardly worth the extra money. Of course, the BS has much more than just the motor, but the C63, fully loaded is just over $80k. I'm sure the BS will be over that $125k mark.
How about the lease rates? I've also seen MB resale really plummets. BMW fares much better.
I still need to check it out. Do the rear seats fold down? Big plus in the versatility of the M3 coupe.

The car starts right about the 110k mark and reach up to 133k maxed out. With only 70something coming stateside, I'm sure they won't have a problem selling them all. As for the rear seats, this car won't have any.

So, I'm sure dealers will dream about $150k.

I was actually wondering about the rear seats of a normal C63 coupe. Even 0-120mph, the BS is no faster than a C63 with PP. Obviously, the coilover suspension, wider wheels and cup tires make for faster track times. Sure, a BS would be cool, but a bit hard for me to reach. The C63 PP seems interesting though...

Just looking, seems that the '08 CLK Blacks are close to $90k. Just over $100k or less you can find a '10 GT3. The CLK doesn't seem worth it for a 2 seater. I just don't like the CLK styling either.

AMGs don't hold their resale value during the first few years. A used one could be a lot less expensive. The only issue of buying used is how they are treated. If you did consider a used one, I would advise an extended warranty.

I wouldn't want to daily a BS of any kind. Price wise and what the OP is intending to use it for the GTR would be the best value compared to any other car considered...

Really hate doing this, but did you consider buying a Panamera? I know you mentioned not going for a sedan of any kind, but this would pretty much end all your worries. With around 5.0 sprint times, lots of room, luxurious interior, I think that would be the best option.

yeah
I've pretty much crossed the BS off my list of cars. I've read here and other places that resale value is crappy. If I sell my C4S I'm going to a GTR. Panamera is nice but it's just too big for me. Plus, the GTR is just unbelievably fast. I've got a lot of other projects going right now so I'm content just to stay put.

I just sold my C2 completely modded and got a CLK black for about half the MSRP, the C2 is no match for the black in handling, braking and obviously power.
