Why does my car run out of breathe? Help
I have a 2003 SL 55 with 38,000kms on it. everything seems good and engine is strong except sometimes when I punch the throttle it pushes hard and then monements later the throttle doesn't rev up like normal. ( slow rev, no power but rev still goes up slowly) feels like the car lost its breathe or the engine is unconscious. but sometimes couples seconds later it will regain consciousness and lots of power. anyone knows why? coils? Airmass?

+1 Look into Johnson Cooling Pumps. I'm not sure about the SL55, but my C32's intercooler pump goes bad every 40k Miles or so. It's about $200 and can be installed yourself fairly easily.
thanks guys, will try replacing the pump see what the results are. I'm new with the AMG's not too familiar with the engine. does anyone have any install guides for the pump or where its located?

I finally had time to bring my car to the shop to install the Johnson CM 30 pump. But after getting the car back I noticed the car is EVEN WORSE NOW.......the car has noticeably loss power at the throttle. The OEM pump before worked better just with heat soak once in a while..
I'm thinking this has got to be something the shop did wrong in the install. Reversed polarity on the pump or water lines? thinking it can't be the pump causing the problem. dunno why but will bring the car back to the shop tomorrow.

Thanks for the info The Head, didn't come across my mind but now I'm thinking the shop didn;t bleed the system. Any procedures on doing it properly? I tried to look for the bleed valve but can't locate it.
