i am looking into the car, im liking what i am seeing so far. anything you guys can tell me would be appreciated, what to look out for and so on and so forth. i also heard the supercharger dies after 100? is this true, how do you guys compensate for the loss of power?

Why would the supercharger die after 100? I doubt that.

Not so much dying after 100, but the 55 Kompressor car have had some issues with their cooling thus making the power inconsistent...benz released an intercooler pump TSB I believe.

I can't think of anything that I don't like about mine. I'm now going into year 3 with my 05 and have 11,000 miles so far.
Things to look for;
Skip the 03s, first year introduction. May have a huge list of recalls done, maybe not.
Get used to having your roof creaks and rattles fixed yearly. Make the dealer sign that he will do it too. Mine has been fixed twice, bout once a year. The noise is only a small bit when driving around 30-40, goes away on the highway. Put the roof down and it is not there at all.
I thought distronic would be cool, but it is a PITA unless you use it in traffic. If distronic is used with cruise control off you will get an alarm if you start closing quickly on the car in front of you, when you get close though. It will also give you an alarm if you floor it on an empty highway, making a spot on your seat cuz you think it was your radar detector going off.
Power ventilated seats are really nice. They keep you from sticking in your seat when cruising around in hot weather with the seat down.
04s and 05s can be had in the 80-90 range, some with even only 3-5 k on them.
And then there is the Kleeman mods....................YEEEEEOWZER!

When I first read the thread title, I thought it was a MB SL55 pickup truck. Immediately I had images of Travis McGee's blue Rolls Royce pickup truck in mind . . .
