ummm.....Renntech... me want! Does RennTech mods void the factory warranty ? Is true that the guy who started RennTech was one of the main guys over at //AMG ?

Thank you Alex!! Renntech also provides 4yr 50000 mile warranty - spoke to service here and sounds like Mercedes & Renntech work together very well! If Mercedes blames Renntech for issue then they call Renntech and they work together to get the fix! That was a major concern for me to make sure if anything happens I was covered before I committed on the buy!

i believe renntech's founder, hartmut fehyl, spent 12 years at AMG then was appointed AMG's technical director. AMG stands for aufrecht, melcher, and grossapach (location in Germany). the two founders of amg were aufrecht and melcher, melcher later went on his own to form MKB (he is the M in MKB, and i believe the K is someone who worked at AMG as well). so renntech's founder was one of the main technical guys at amg for some time, but not one of the founders of amg. fyi, i remember reading that the current technical director at AMG worked for Porsche Motorsport

as far as voiding warranty, i think it depends on the dealership. some dealerships, such as those who sell renntech parts/cars, will not care if the car is by renntech, but i think it's safe to say that you can't be sure everywhere (mercedes gmbh officially supports no aftermarket tuner). i wouldn't place much of my decision on the warranty, however. i trust renntech, even if i know my warranty might be voided (as it would be specific to the thing i modded) for two reasons: 1) renntech's own warranty on its parts and 2) i would trust renntech's technical work.

 

Oh yeah definitely - Ill take pics of the Benz coming off the truck and of them loading up my Viper to go back to Exotic Car! Should be mid week. It left Boyton Beach (nr Miami) on Fri - has 1 drop in TX then here to Vegas - yippee!!!

Congrats! Went for a spin in my friends S65 and that thing is a MONSTER! I can only imagine what the renntech version does. The brakes are rediculous too (dual claipers in the front)
