Mercedes / AMG Mercedes talk on the E55 AMG, SLK 55, SL65, the other Classic Mercedes models.

Okay, since the Scottsdale CLK DTM is sold, talk me out of buying another DTM.

CLK DTM is an amazing car.
$330K can buy you a LOT of things, though. Not sure what I would do.
Wait for the AM DBS? That will be rare as well, at around 300 units.
CGT? I think your Ruf fills the Porsche appetite.
CLK isn't a bad idea.

Do it, Ben!!!!

GTR doesn't seem like a daily driveable car whereas the DTM does. I've found one black LHD car in Germany. If you know of any in the US, please PM me.

No way does the AM DBS fill the need. The AM driving experience will never be up to the standards I like. Not engaging enough. Beautiful and sexy, but not a driver.

CGT - awesome, but yes my Ruf fills the Pcar need.

So, we're back to square DTM

Your turbo can't compare to the CGT, you asked to be talked out of buying the DTM and to me there is no comparison. CGT all the way.

different strokes Buddy. Wasn't comparing my Ruf to a CGT, just saying that it fills my Pcar need. I used to have a Kleemann CL55 and I loved that car. I've always been a fan of pillarless coupes. I don't see a CGT as being a good daily driver (which is a requirement of 99.9% of my cars) and in Seattle I'd stick out like a sore thumb (which is not what I like to do). I'd rather be more inconspicuous amongst the general public and only turn the heads of those that know why my car is special.

Totally agreed, but he understand that!

LV Eric said that when he raced the DTM against 2 Enzo's the DTM was beating it bad, that is CRAZY! Had no idea they were that fast!!

DTM really is a great car, and *trust* me I don't like cars that don't come as a 6speed.

I took delivery of one for a friend while he was on vacation. Talk about timing huh?

As for it's performance it's pretty solid. It sure likes getting sideways.

We had a run in with one in Germany during last years Gumball. It was a non-Gumballer but he was pacing us for awhile on the autobahn. When the hammer came down it was gone. The 80-150 pull in it is amazing. Couldn't keep up with it even if I wanted to. (We were in an Aston V8)

My friend has talked about getting rid of his DTM. (it's registered) I'll see where he is with that.

I don't have any pictures except for these: (which seem more Rover centric than DTM -- I know)

That's a good idea, use the Rover as a driveway blocker in case someone wants to steal the DTM.
