Whoever has a new 2003 E55, whats your impressions on it so far? what kind of mileage so far? daily or pleasure useage? comfort? performance? too computer controlled? TIA

 

I've had my '03 E55 for a little over 2 months, and absolutely love it. I traded my '00 BMW 740i sport, and sold my '02 Carrera (my third Porsche), and this car is like having the best of both worlds. Incredible performance in a luxury sedan. Never thought I'd sell my BMW & Porsche to get a Mercedes, but they've never built a car like this before.

I have about 3,000 miles on it--it's my only car now, mpg is about 13. The acceleration is unlike any other car I've driven, it handles incredibly well for a 4,000 lb car, and the exterior and interior design, fit and finish and materials are all first class. You must test drive one and you'll be sold.

The air suspension is terrific. I keep mine set on sport mode 2, which is a nice firm--but not uncomfortable--ride, and the active damping all but eliminates body roll.

Mine came with almost all options (it was a dealer spec car) and I actually like most of them. The seats are by far the best sport seats I've sat in. And definately not too computer controlled.

I'm very impressed and pleased with the car, and highly recommend it.
