I like the concept rendering but i think it will be very expensive around Gallardo pricing.

 

for 200k it better kick the **** out of the R8.

is it just me or have car makers really stepped up the number of their 100k+ models

 

R8 the Target,hmmm, itfthe SLC will look tat aggresive and priced in the $200k its target should be GT2 or F430. Actually the SLC will be in a class of its own,there arent any Super GT's (ala SLR,Ferrari 599 cars with boot,front mounted engines) right now in the $200k range.I like the whole range performance GT line up M-Benz has right, the SLR,SLR 722,CLK-DTM,CLK63 Blackseries,SL65 even little SLK55 is badass.

 

Can someone explain to me how the current CL doesn't already fill this niche? How is this car going to slot in compared to the CL?

 

the 6.2 v8 "63 motor" can do 700hp!? the looks are a bit outlandish, but i love the concept of a more hardcore SL; though the SL isn't a race chassis to begin with, it's still kinda a cool idea. kinda like the clk-dtm IMO, just not initiated for homologation purposes.

 

The CL is a fullsize 4seat Luxury GT,its powerful,fast ala Bentlet GT but its not a Supercar GT like the SLR. The SL series are all 2seat ie SLR 722,SLR,SL55,SL65,SLK55 are like are more Sports GT , the SLR's they are Super GT's not a luxurious as say the CL65,the SLC would fit perfectly between the SL65 and the SLR remember,think of it as a Smaller SLR with some SL65 DNA (Am guessing the engine).

 

Blazing, thanks for clearing that up. I was under the impression that the new SLC would be the same type of car as the old one (which is basically what the CL is now)...

 

the concept looks good, but kinda like acura concept renderings of the nsx... first thought that crossed my mind before i saw the benz sign
