its a heavy beast, thats for sure, handles well though and it is NEVER short of power, but yes the other 55's are faster, this is prob the slowest one of them - but i do love it, and i drive it way more then the E55, so that does say something

I'm pretty sure the SL55 is faster than the CLS55, SLK55, G55, CL63, S63, etc.
Besides the V12 Bi-Turbo's and Black Series, the SL55 should be the second quickest AMG after the E55/63. I've driven most of them and can't even tell the difference without pulling up the performance stats.

They do not run 12.9-13.0... where are you getting your information from? You are wholly wrong.
03-06 SL55's (pre-HP upgrade) will run as low as 12.4s in the 1/4 mile with mine running consistent 12.5's and occasional 12.4's.
My SL55 also beat my friends SLK55 from a dig, and a roll at any and all speeds every single time.
You really arn't talking from experience it appears, my information above is true FACT from ACTUAL driving of my very OWN SL55, as well as a buddy who had an 06 SL55, and another buddy with a 07 SLK55.
PLUS, i was running on 20" Asanti wheels

Yes, SL55's do indeed run 12.4-12.5 stock, I'm not magazine racing, I used to own an SL55 and I took it to the track multiple times both in Houston, TX and South of Atlanta at Silverdollar.
Look at dragtimes.com for proof of stock SL55 run times.

where am i getting my info?
pretty much all major car mag road test tested the SLK55 FASTER from 0-60mph AND 1/4 mile than pre-07 SL55's. go look up some time slips from dragtimes.com. i dont know of ANY pre-07 SL55's in stock form that can run 0-60mph in 4.3 seconds flat. car and driver tested the SLK55 from 0-60mph in 4.3 seconds (1/4 mile in 12.7 sec), and i was able to get the exact same result with my passport gtimer.
most SL55's that ran less than 12.9 seconds had kleemann or renntech mods. if you're talking about modified ones then that's a whole different thing.
the m6 runs 12.4 second 1/4 miles. you are telling me an SL55 runs a faster 1/4 mile than a BMW M6??
