Yost Bonitz .45

If the Mods have issue with me posting this, please let me know. It might be a grey area being a gun on a public board.

This is a very good friend of mine selling this and I usually don't post things like this but it is pretty unusual and I know we have some gun nuts on here. The price might be a little high but he is pretty good about dealing. Let him know.

(Copied from an ad on another board)
Yep, will probably regret it, but I am going to sell my Yost-Bonitz Colt .45 commander. The base gun was purchased by me at one of the local gun shows. It was a 1985 model Colt Combat Commander. This is an all steel gun, not aluminum. I sent it off to the guys at Yost-Bonitz for their 1* elite package. Just as a side note, the Yost-Bonitz shop is no more as both Ted Yost and Lew Bonitz have gone their seperate ways. So the fact that there will be no more 1* guns might see this one appreciate in value some day. Anyway, the 1* elite package includes:

-Best quality trigger job using Yost-Bonitz action and Yost-Bonitz aluminum trigger (length your choice)
-Fitted beavertail gripsafety
-Hand fit slide to frame
-Yost-Bonitz Professional Grade sights or Novak low-mount sight system, in black
-Serrate front strap in point pattern @ 20lpi
-Lower & flare ejection port
-Tool steel slide stop
-Extended thumb safety
-Complete 1911 dependability package including; Wilson Bulletproof extractor, tune ejector, polished feed ramp, throated barrel, polished breech face, polished cartridge pick-up rail, chamfer firing pin hole, polished chamber, ream chamber if necessary
-Steel serrated mainspring housing with Yost-Bonitz lanyard loop conversion
-Flatten and serrate slide top @ 40lpi
-Hand-filed beveled magazine well
-Match grade barrel bushing, blue or stainless
-Re-crown barrel
-24k gold line front sight
-Complete de-horning
-Satin blue or stainless finish
-Polished slide flats
-Silver inlaid 1* logo
-Wolff spring set
-Yost-Bonitz double diamond Micarta stocks
-Gun rug with 1* logo patch

Now I made a few changes and added some custom stuff with my order. I had them leave off the gold line front sight and install a full set of novak sights with tritium inserts. I also had them leave off the lanyard loop and install a Smith & Alexander magwell/mainspring housing. Other add on's include a Kart National Match barrel, a chamfered slide stop hole and flattened slide stop. When they received the stock pistol from me, the slide to frame fit was out of spec, so they welded and re-cut the frame rails for an absolutely perfect fit. You will not find a spec of side to side or vertical slop on this gun. The match bushing is also a tight fit and the trigger is nice at around 4lbs. The series 80 parts are still in place, but can be removed by the new owner if desired. The gun will come with the original Colt blue box with owners manual, 1 original Colt magazine along with 1 aftermarket magazine, and the 1* gun rug.

This gun is a great shooter and is still practically as new as when I received it back from the shop. I keep a detailed round count, which is on my other computer, but is less than 700 rounds since I got it back. I am asking $2500 for the gun with no months of waiting. The leather pictured is not for sale. Anyone interested can email me at parboy@gmail.com

How much extra would it cost to have the serial # filed off and delivered to a PO box?

If you don't want to wait and you want an awesome gun then it is a good deal. It's a little too rich for my blood but it is an awesome gun and the guy that owns it is probably one of the pickiest people I've ever met. Makes me look laid back.

Thats a steal! I can't pay that for a gun currently but I am sure someone will find a nice home for it.
