I have several old computers that I need to Move. These about 4 years old but work. They are Dell optiplex 170l They have Word,outlook and excel installed on them.

Viewsonic flatscreen monitor 15 inch

Don't take this the wrong way, but $250 each? I doubt these are even worth $250 for the entire lot. Even computers that are a year old have already seen a serious depreciation hit. You can get a pretty solid PC with a flat panel monitor nowadays that is many magnitudes better in terms of performance for less than $500. Even a base laptop with a screen as big as your monitors can be had on sale in the $349-$399 range, and these too will be far better in terms of performance as well as storage capability. The Microsoft Office SW isn't worth much since it's Office 2003 or earlier.

You'd be better off trying to donate these to a non-profit organization and getting a receipt for tax purposes.

 

Not only have computers depreciated hardcore lately but the prices of hardware new has dropped tremendously....

I bought a beautiful ViewSonic Monitor in about 2003 or 2004 for $1200 dollars.. That's right $1200...

Still worked beautifully, had all the cables and whatnot, and I sold it for $40 dollars less than 6 months ago.

With that I learned to just donate all my old crap to Goodwill for the tax writeoff...

 

agree with the above, i always donate our orphaned technology gear to charity now. to them it's like a quad core, and the deduction is easier and better than going through the hassle of a sale.
