Gil, I'm hoping that you aren't saying B-M and RW are Dodges. If Patek is a Carrera GT then wouldn't the other 2 at least be BMW and Mercedes?

OK, so being relatively new to the watch game, can someone give a ranked list of the top 10 manufacturers? I know there will be some disagreement but just trying to get a feel for what falls where.

That is almost impossible to answer. Are you talking about just the major houses or the independents as well? Define best, etc. Excluding the independents like Journe and Richard Mille, etc:
The top guys
Patek
Lange
Vacheron Constantin
Audemars Piguet
---------------------
Very nice
JLC
Breguet
Blancpain
Ulyssee Nardin
Glashutte
--------------------
Average
IWC
Panerai
Rolex
GP
--------------------
So-So
Omega
Tag
Brietling
Chopard
Again, this is a rough list. I left out guys like Winston, Journe, Mille (all of those are big $$$$, 50k+) I don't think anyone will argue Patek is the best out of that list, followed by Lange and Audemar and Vacheron could be interchanged.
Bottom line, find something you like and buy it. We can help find the right price for you.

You gave your opinion and that's what I was looking for. If you were asked to rank the ten best of anything that is subjective I'm sure there would be disagreements. Certainly someone here with watch experience could offer a different opinion than yours but I'm sure certain things most experts might agree.
