Nintendo Wii anyone?
I think TRU was one of the few to havea presale on these... they are supposed to be limited. Not all the hype of the PS3 but just as rare because the lines for campout and for diehard NES and SNES fans that now have money that can play classic games that they download. I got a preorder at my local Toys R Us. 1 of 5 that were raffled off and the only ones that they are receiving in the next 3 months.
Nintendo plans on selling something like 2 million Wii's before Christmas, actually. The numbers at release week will be as limited as the PS3, but afterwards, probably much more. In contrast, Sony plans on selling 400,000 PS3's between launch and Christmas.
you have to keep in mind that the consumer base is proportionally higher for the Wii so supply will essentially be the same. Putting it in a lower pricing bracket allows access to many people who cant afford/refuse to spend 600+ dollars on a gaming console. Just a thought. Also... to sweeten the pot... price lowered to 450
Don't over pay for a Wii....there should be plenty available....They'll sell out fast, but more are coming. We're getting about 50+ units at work...it's no biggy.
of course...I could be wrong...

ebay will probably be your best bet. i posted wrong, nintendo has 2 million worldwide for launch, theyve been pumping them out since august. they plan to have 6 million out worldwide by christmas
I used to really want one, until I went onto the wii forums to get the DL on the release. Talk about a board full of virgins for life. One kid made a wii out of paper, and then put a video on youtube on himself 'playing' it. Only one person made fun of him out of like 50 compliments. I don't know if I want to even be able to be loosely associated with them.
I went to Best buy today to pick up a external hard drive, geeks are already lining up there to get a PS3. Incredible, 10 days away from release and they are camping out. I asked one of them(the first one in line, looked about 30 years old) if he his mother knew he was camping out, he took offense... but luckily for me one of the other geeks got out of his tent and held him back... I was scared.
