I can't justify it, I am not that much of a baller, I have a D50 for taking pictures, I just want a cool phone to make phone calls and texts.

My guess is probably that you live in an area where they use lots of 850 bands. My wife's Nokia triband phone (900/1800/1900) works really well in metro LA, but it doesn't work for jack in rural MA.

It really is unfortunate that Nokia chose to handicap this phone by having two versions of triband instead of a quad band all encompassing phone like the Razr.

Just know that 8801 won't work for jack overseas because almost no carriers now use 900 band. They are all mostly 1800 nowadays.

That is exactly what I found out, duhno why Nokia did that with the split of the bands, they are AFAIC the best phone maker out there bar none.
I still have my 8800 for the overseas use.

I love your nik BTW.

You havent been around for awhile have you?

I am a Nokia believer. I still miss my 8890.

The razr is way over hyped and really not build as nicely as the 8800. I am a gentle phone user, and the razr that my wife gave me jus tabout died after two years, while that 8890 lasted me almost five years.

And in general, having gonr through a few moto phones from work and the personal razr, I would also say that the Moto battery life are crap compares to Nokia.

If I didn't have to carry around a Blackjack, I would have bought a 8800. More useful to me since I live in metro LA and I travel to Asia a lot.
